Phillip Golden has been pastor of FBC for the past five and a half years. He came to Denver City in December of 2003, having served in the ministry for over 26 years. He has degrees from Wayland Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His wife, Pennye is the Elementary Music Teacher in Seminole, Texas and also has a degree from Wayland Baptist University, where they met. They have four kids--Brittan, a junior at West Texas A&M University, Bryce who is in his second year at South Plains Jr. College, Courtnye, a senior in high school, and Brent, who is a freshman at Denver City High School.

Randy Butler - Minister of Music

Randy has been the MInister of Music at First Baptist Church for 25 years.  He and his wife Rondalyn moved to Denver City from Crosbyton, Texas where he served the First Baptist Church there.  While in college at Wayland Baptist University he served churches at Ropesville, and Quitaque, Texas.  Rondalyn serves as the elementary music teacher at Kelly/Dodson Elementary in Denver City.  They have two children, LIndsey, a junior at West Texas A&M and Cameron, who is in the 8th grade at Bill Gravitt Jr. High.

David Azam - Youth Minister

David moved to Denver City from Amarillo Texas in June of 2002. He graduated from Texas Tech University in May of 2000, and then pursued a career as a teacher/coach. Following his call to ministry he moved to Denver City and has been the Youth Pastor at FBC since 2002.  He is currently working on his Masters of Divinity at Logsdon Seminary in Abilene TX, as well as his Masters in Christian Ministry degree with Wayland Baptist University. David and his wife Meghan have a son, Brady, who was born June 30th, 2008.   

Courtney Hix - Children's Director

 Courtney is the Children's Director for FBC. Courtney has lived in Denver City for 22 years and been a member of First Baptist Church Denver City for 12 years. She is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Religion from Wayland Baptist University then to pursue a Masters Degree in Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University.

Sandy Poe - Secretary

Sandy has been the church secretary since June of 2000. She and her husband Kenny have four children, Andrea, Brad, Chris, & Dustin, and 2 grandchildren Elisabeth & Isabella Cooper.
