Romans 9:14-29

God Knows Why

1. God is absolutely free to do as He chooses. (VV. 14-16)

• “Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes.”  - Psalm 115:3

2. God shares His glory with no one. (VV. 17-18)

• “I am the Lord; there is no other God.” - Isaiah 45:5

3. God can treat us any way He chooses. (VV. 19-23)

• “How foolish can you be? He is the Potter, and he is certainly greater than you, the clay! Should the created thing say of the one who made it, “He didn’t make me”? Does a jar ever say, “The potter who made me is stupid”? - Isaiah 29:16

4. God is NOT obligated to explain Himself. (VV. 24-29) 

• “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker…” - Psalm 95:6
   
• 9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,
  10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
  11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:9-11
